Walker 5G6 Mini 4 Channel RC helicopter! Crazy is here to stay!

images/blog/4_chan_heli/1_t.jpg

  • 18 CM / 180 MM long
  • 4 channel control / 3D flight
  • Twin electric motor!
  • Full reversible modes
  • For years scientists have discussed how imitating the flight of a bird would be one of the greatest engineering feats to be broken

It's 2008 and already major manufacturers are taking on orders world wide for this...!

The same is true of the typical model area's such as cars, boats and in this case helicopters, already there is a crazy boom of 2 channel Mini 15CM long RC helicopters available all over E-bay, market stall stands and pretty much everywhere else. Well for a short while many people where pushing to have more channels and some 3 channel versions came out here and there but now there is full 4 channel mini RC helicopters giving you full 3D flight at only 18CM big! wow laugh

The amount of options is incredible you can reverse or tweak any channel and the manufacturers even explain in the manual how to full change the handset from mode 1 to mode 2 depending where you are.

    Cost and upgrades

I payed total of £90 to have one of these sent from the United Kingdom to here in the Netherlands including postage which some may see as expensive for this size fun but please note this if officially not a toy and is recommended for ages 14 years old and above. There is plenty of "hop-up" parts available such as metal gearings, metal shaft and linkages which you can easily find on your local E-bay and cost next to nothing. I ordered 2 additional spare battery's, Spare tail boom and 2 packs of spare blades total was £18 including postage from Germany!

Alike a full size RC helicopter you can adjust pitch settings for just about any part on the helicopter but its worth mentioning that the rear tail propeller is just for show and has no functionality to it other than maybe weight balance so take it off and replacing with a melted chunk version of it super glued INSIDE the boom shaft would have the same effect but look cleaner.

Video's coming as soon as I've made them!

giggling here already broke the rear blue boom its a bit flimsy on the plastic for hitting stuff :| but never the less as I stated a spare is already on its way ha ha.

My thoughts at this point due the fact the rear shaft is nothing more than counter weight is to replace the whole thing with a 3mm carbon fiber rod and manually add weight to correct the center of gravity, figuring this will be more sturdy and impact resistant.
